What Is Frozen Embryo Transfer? 

Frozen embryo transfer is a fertility treatment where a frozen embryo is thawed and placed in the uterus. In the FET procedure, patients can have an embryo transfer without the need for another egg retrieval.

1. Consultation and Treatment Planning 

During the consultation, Dr. Sushila Arya examines your treatment history, the embryos that are available and your overall fertility needs to develop a plan that is customized for each person. She will also explain when and what kind of cycling may be suitable for you.

2. Preparation of Uterine lining

We condition your uterus in order to ensure that your uterus’ lining is prepared to receive your embryo. This may include medication to help prepare and line the uterus for the treatment. 

3. Monitoring and Timing 

We perform ultrasound monitoring of endometrial lining growth and determine readiness. This will assist us in determining the appropriate embryo transfer time for your cycle. 

4. Embryo Thawing and Transfer

Prior to the transfer of the frozen embryo, our embryology team carefully thaws the embryo that has been selected and determines whether the embryo is suitable for thawing. During the embryo transfer procedure, the embryo is placed into the uterus through a thin catheter.

5. Pregnancy Test and Follow-Up
